|What does SEO mean to you?
In my opinion, SEO is both a science and an art. The science to use different techniques and strategies to find the right keywords, build backlinks and improve a website’s ranking in search engines, and the art to reach an audience and increase the amount of visitors to a website with optimized content. SEO follows specific rules but is also about instinct and being creative. No two projects are the same. An SEO specialist must adopt a new approach for each client and be a driving force in developing their website’s full potential.
When you are not up to your elbows in keywords what do you do?
I love reading, watching movies, travelling all over the world with my wife and tasting new cuisines I’ve never had before. I went on a cruise to New Zealand not long ago and that was the best experience ever!
Three things that make you tick?
First would be travelling. I love experiencing new cultures and I’ve actually lived in 5 different countries. Every single time, it was like starting a new life. Second would be the ocean. I love swimming and my next big project is to learn how to surf. There is no better place than Sydney to do that! Finally, I am passionate about filmmaking. In my spare time, I like shooting short films and writing screenplays.
Merlu à la plancha, a fish dish with French fries and peppers hailing from the Basque country, one of my favourite places in the world. It is spicy and oh so delicious!
If you could host a dinner with any three people, who would you choose and why?
I would have dinner with Stanley Kubrick, because movies like 2001 A Space Odyssey or Paths Of Glory were revolutionary for the time. I would also invite Alfred Hitchcock because his movies are so fun and suspenseful, and Philip K. Dick, the most influential science fiction writer in my eyes. We would spend the evening talking about cinema and books. What could be better?
If given the chance to skip work for a day, how would you spend the entire day?
I would fly to the village of Saint Jean de Luz in South Western France with my wife to swim in the ocean and enjoy French crêpes with a glass of rosé. Then we would cross the border to go to San Sebastian in Northern Spain and taste all the delicious food this city has to offer.
